Are you enjoying life? Do you know who you are and what you want?
Have you ever wondered “Am I happy?” “How did my life end up here?”
“Who is this person next to me?” “How come we are in such a tough spot when I know we love each other?”
These questions and many others are questions we all can ask ourselves during our lifetime. I can help you discover your answers by taking the journey of healing your relationships and discovering yourself with me. So many people make the mistake of thinking that all of these questions can be answered by themselves. The truth is that it is hard to see things ourselves and it can take a trained therapist to help you see your answers. We all need people, but doing therapy is different that talking to a friend or family member. This relationship is purely about you and your goals with a loving third party that doesn’t have a stake in the game. If you are a couple, it can be so beneficial to have a therapist to help coach you and your partner to a more loving conversation. Not just a mediator, but someone that helps the two of you learn to connect and communicate in a new way so you can do that beyond therapy.
After experiencing a true therapeutic connection with someone who accepted me for who I was, I realized what a gift I was given, the gift of me. I want you to be able to experience that as well and you will find a loving, accepting therapist who wants the same for you.
I have spent over 30 years in the health care field, and I am in that second phase of my career, doing what I love; connecting with people, honoring their life story and giving back what I was given, acceptance and learning to love yourself.
I completed both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Psychology from Brandman University. I was honorably discharged from the United States Navy after serving our country for four years. I am eclectic therapist using a blend of Gottman Method Couples Counseling (Level 2 trained), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic and Family Systems to help clients achieve their goals. Completed a Sex Therapy Certificate from The Buehler Institute Psychological Services, Inc.
I have experience treating adults, couples, families, children and adolescents with diverse backgrounds and wide ranges of concerns as listed below. Clients find great relief by being heard, accepted, guided and given tools to overcome the life issues that sometimes come up. Whether that’s finally learning to love and accept yourself; connecting with family members in a new way; letting go of substance use and learning new coping strategies; letting go of codependency and setting appropriate boundaries; connecting to your partner in a way where you are heard and feel connected; overcoming a loss or learning how to be good coparents for the sake of the children…….I can help and I look forward to it!
