Many people seek therapy for a variety of reasons. Life is full of twists and turns and sometimes you need a compassionate, helpful, skilled therapist to meet you where you are and to help you find the solutions that you are looking for to make life better. You deserve to thrive!
It is completely normal to be struggling with anxiety or overwhelming stress, depression or grief and sometimes when we don’t have the resources to cope with life challenges, we turn to substances to self- soothe. I have years of experience helping people with all these areas and can help you too. Many clients say that I am warm, compassionate, but I also don’t just listen, our sessions will be active so that you hear a different perspective and can grab a new resource to help you on your journey.
For couples looking to improve their relationships, I can help by improving your communication, improving your intimacy and sex lives, and helping you learn to understand each other and fight fairly or overcoming a betrayal. Whether you are married, living together, planning to live together, or dating and need new tools for your relationship, I can help. You will find that I am able to help you feel connected again.
I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process.
I have been a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for 22 years and have experience working in mental health and substance abuse settings, including inpatient, Partial Hospitalization Programs and private practice.
My education includes an undergraduate degree from Bradford College with a focus on Human Studies. I also have both a master’s degree in Marital and Family Therapy from Philips Institute and an MBA from Baker College.
Over the years my clinical practice has specialized in working with Personality Disorders, Couples, Adolescents, and individuals suffering from chronic mental illness. I have training in Solution Focused/Brief Strategic as well as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).
As a clinician I enjoy working with clients who can be resistant to traditional treatment.
