Welcome to the Relationship Therapy Center. I am Marci Volkman, an experienced Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist as well as an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor, working under the guidance of licensed professionals. My specialized expertise is rooted in the complex realm of relationships, be it with couples, co-parents, or individuals.
I am adept in employing a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT). This method equips my clients with practical tools to delve deep into their circumstances, encouraging them to be proactive and committed participants in their lives. In addition to ACT, I hold extensive training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Over the years, I have amassed significant experience in counseling relationships. From assisting with the complexities of co-parenting, addressing estrangement issues, to facilitating reunification, I have guided numerous individuals in navigating the intricacies of their relational lives.
My experience also extends to leading group therapy sessions, particularly with teenagers and adults affected by alcoholism. I have provided vital counsel to individuals entangled in legal systems, aiding them in rebuilding their lives. In the K-12 educational setting, I have supported young people and their families to build bridges of communication and foster a harmonious home environment.
Notably, I have led workshops and public presentations for Sacramento county, focusing on a wide range of mental health and relationship topics. These forums have allowed me to share insights and tools on a broader scale.
Also, as a certified interpreter, I am fluent in American Sign Language and work closely with the Deaf population. My certification has enabled me to closely work with various agencies within the Deaf community, offering culturally specific support and resources.
In these tense times, trauma, relationships, substance abuse, and major life events can often pose significant challenges to our well-being. I firmly believe in the healing power of a purpose-driven life and its potential to instill resilience and confidence. Choosing the right therapist is a crucial first step towards such a journey.
I warmly invite you to reach out to me at 916-426-2757 ext 701 or via email at marci@sacrtc.com. I eagerly look forward to working with you, facilitating your journey towards a richer, more fulfilling life.
