If you are searching for a therapist, you are not alone! Many professional, successful people in all areas of life have had times when they struggle and getting therapy can help.
I believe everyone should have a therapist. Did you know that over 30% of Argentinians see a therapist? Our mental health is just as important as taking care of our physical health, which is why I chose this field and hope to help break the stigma around mental health especially as a weakness, or just for crazy people. Everyone struggles at some point in their lives, which is why I am passionate about finding the right therapy that works for each individual.
I was inspired to be a therapist as a teen. My high school counselor helped me through one of the most difficult times in my life. This is why I love working with teens that might be struggling and needing extra support. I especially enjoy working with teens and parents/caregivers and specialize in family therapy.
Child Play Therapy helps children learn how to handle big feelings that they sometimes act out using play which is a child’s language. With specific interventions that are used while playing games, using sand tray or creating art, children are helped by learning new coping skills, identifying emotions, and being fully supported. Teen therapy is effective because opening up to a mental health professional (other than their parents), who know how to support, ask questions and help the teen process, is easier for a teen. They are navigating life between being their own person and still relying on mom and dad. That ambivalence and steps that are necessary to launch someday are often confusing for them and can be worked out with a professional.
Because relationships can bring us great highs and lows—I am also passionate about working with individuals/couples on how to strengthen and develop healthy relationships. Our love relationships are often the most rewarding and challenging relationships that we have. People say that relationships take work, but what does that mean? It means learning how to communicate, keeping the respect and courtesy in our relationships, tending to them by making time for each other and connecting in small and big ways, learning how to fight fair and resolve differences, and support each other in building life dreams for one another and for the couple together. We teach those skills here at the center by using the Gottman Method of Couples therapy because it is a researched and proven method to help you create your best relationship.
I look forward to connecting and working together.
