You are a parent looking for help for your child or teen or need some coaching on how to parent
You are a couple looking for new tools to break through ineffective communication and to grow closer
You are an adult that wants to learn how to stop doing the same things over and over again
It takes courage to seek out professional support and even more courage to initiate change. When life feels overwhelming or you feel stuck, therapy can help you clarify your experiences and build a plan forward. Together we will work to find a way through, to help you get unstuck, and learn new tools to help you reach your goals.
Therapy is about creating a safe place where you can discover, heal, and grow amid the difficulties and challenges of life. I enjoy working with a variety of clients including teens, young adults, children and couples. Throughout treatment, I will create a place where, with the right tools and resources, you will be able to understand, heal, and cope effectively with symptoms of depression, anxiety, addiction, codependency, grief, or relationship problems.
If you are hurting today, I am here to help you process your past and current life challenges in a way that feels safe and comfortable. I incorporate a variety of modalities into treatment including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
Many couples think that they have to be close to divorce to come into therapy, and that is just not true. We usually just repeat the patterns that we have seen even when we tell ourselves we won’t. Most couples wait a long time before coming in, growing more distant or more conflicted when that doesn’t have to be the case. Couples who come to therapy find relief from strained relationships, learn to grow closer, resolve conflict and learn new ways to not just rehash a fight but to resolve your differences. What ever stage of relationship you are in, invest in your relationship with the evidenced based Gottman Method.
I have completed Gottman Couples Therapy Level 2 training under the mentorship of Nancy Ryan, LMFT. I will use the resources available to me to create a treatment approach that is specific to you or your families needs. I am dedicated to equipping you with tools and resources so that you can feel confident and empowered to begin and continue your healing journey. You do not have to feel alone in what you are going through.
Through an evidenced based program called Parent Management Training, I help parents work with children who have disruptive behavior through a step by step process allowing you to gain control of your child and your household. I also help children with play therapy and teens overcome anxiety, life transitions, parents divorce, low self-esteem and more.
I currently hold a Masters in Counseling Psychology degree from William Jessup University and enjoy integrating a faith perspective into therapy with clients who feel that it is an important aspect of their lives.
