Hello, I’m Komal, an Associate Child Therapist at the Relationship Therapy Center, supervised by Tammi Jamison, LMFT #112329. I hold a Master’s degree in Social Work with a focus on Child and Teen Therapy. My passion lies in helping children, adolescents, and families navigate their journeys toward healing and growth within a therapeutic environment where each child and teen is valued, heard, and empowered.
Previously, I served as an online Mental Health Crisis Counselor, a Youth Behavioral Analyst, and, most recently, as an Associate Therapist working with children in a school setting.
Experienced working with children of all ages who are struggling with:
Anxiety, Depression, Trauma/PTSD, Low Self-Esteem, Self-Harm, Suicidal Ideation, Family Conflict, Grief/Loss, Emotional Dysregulation. Additionally I help with Identity Issues, School-Related Concerns, and Adjustment to Life Transitions. I see clients in Roseville, CA part of the greater Sacramento area and online throughout California.
My role is to listen to each child’s story as we work collaboratively to build a therapeutic relationship based on trust and respect.
Then to develop a customized treatment plan that helps each child overcome obstacles and uncover their strengths and resilience to begin their healing journey.
In fact, I feel truly honored and privileged to support children, teens, and families as they navigate their healing paths. Most importantly, It’s incredibly rewarding to witness their growth, connection, and transformation.
Let’s embark on this journey together!
Many challenges in today’s world can make young individuals feel anxious, stressed, or depressed, and seeking therapy can feel like an uncomfortable and unsettling decision. However, therapy can offer a space for personal growth, self-expression, identity development, and self-empowerment.
My therapeutic style is client-centered and infused with warmth.
Most importantly, I strive to empower my clients to gain greater confidence and practice self-compassion. While providing them with an empathetic, supportive, and nonjudgmental space to explore their challenges, emotions, and relationships.
- Children: who struggle with ADHD, School Challenges, Emotional Regulation
- Teens: with suicidal ideation, anxiety, depression, and trauma
- Families: parenting support, child/teen counseling, blended family challenges
- Individuals from diverse ethnicities, nationalities, races, spiritualities, sexual orientations, and gender identities.
Specialties include Talk Therapy, Play/Expressive Art Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Trauma-Informed therapy, Attachment-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy. All while taking a personalized approach to meet each child’s unique needs.
My Master’s in Social Work was earned from the University of Central Florida and have three years of experience working with children as young as three through young adulthood. Most importantly, I am trained in EMDR and am also a Certified Brainspotter, with specialized training in brainspotting interventions with children. In addition, I have extensive experience utilizing sand tray therapy and expressive arts to support children in their growth and healing.
Personality and Values
Reflecting back, I became a therapist because I have always felt a deep calling to support children and families during the moments when they feel most unseen or unheard. My beliefs are that every child deserves a safe space where their story matters. And becoming a therapist has allowed me to walk alongside them in their healing journey, helping them find their strengths and rediscover hope.
Other than doing therapy I enjoy spending quality time with my family, exploring new places together, and creating meaningful memories with my children. My passion includes learning and am always seeking opportunities that help me grow both as a person and as a therapist. Also, I enjoy staying active by spending time in nature and finding small, creative ways to bring joy and balance into my everyday life.
“Amazing Therapists. The choices they give go beyond to match a good therapist with our needs. Each one we’ve seen has been highly trained, genuine and resourceful. I would and will recommend to my family and friends.”
