About Lara Hutchison
Sometimes we find ourselves feeling stuck—whether we’ve tried to push through on our own or sought help before, we may still find ourselves returning to the same patterns. Reaching out for support can feel intimidating, especially when others in our lives haven’t always shown up the way we needed. If you’re here, I want to commend you for taking this courageous step toward healing, and I’m honored at the possibility of joining you on this journey.

I’ve always felt a deep sense of purpose in walking alongside others in their healing and growth. There is something profoundly sacred about being a safe place for someone to share what they may never have felt safe to share before—to be trusted in that way is a privilege I don’t take lightly. As a person of faith, I also see this work as a reflection of my calling to bring hope and healing to those who feel lost. My heart is to support those who feel stuck in moving forward, helping them find wholeness in their relationship with themselves and with others.

I earned dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Cognitive Science and Psychology from UC San Diego, which gave me a strong foundation in understanding human behavior from both relational and scientific perspectives. I later completed my Master of Arts in Counseling with a Specialization in Addiction at Western Seminary, where I gained in-depth training in integrating faith into the therapeutic process and exploring the root causes behind addiction and emotional pain.

I draw from evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Family Systems Theory, and I tailor my approach to each client’s unique needs. I am also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and continue to pursue further training to deepen my trauma-informed care.

Whether you’re facing anxiety, relational struggles, addiction, or trauma, I’m here to meet you where you are—with compassion, curiosity, and hope.
