When you are searching for a therapist, you are not the only one! Many professional, successful people in all areas of life have had times when they struggle and getting therapy can help.
Everyone should have a therapist. Did you know that over 30% of Argentinians see a therapist?
Our mental health is just as important as taking care of our physical health, which is why I chose this field and hope to help break the stigma around mental health, especially as a weakness, or just for weak people.
All people struggle at some point in their lives, which is why I am passionate about finding the right therapy that works for each individual.
Hello, I’m Rebeca. I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor based in the Sacramento area, specifically Roseville, CA and Fair Oaks, CA, and I specialize in helping couples, adults, teens, families who are struggling with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, disconnection or life transitions.
Especially I enjoy working with teens and parents/caregivers and specialize in family therapy.
Teen therapy is effective because opening up to a mental health professional (other than their parents), who know how to support, ask questions and help the teen process, is easier for a teen. They are navigating life between being their own person and still relying on mom and dad. That ambivalence and steps that are necessary to launch someday are often confusing for them and can be worked out with a professional like myself.
In fact, I use research-based approaches such as the Gottman Method, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Brainspotting.
These methods help clients improve relationships, manage anxiety, heal from trauma, build better emotional resilience and self esteem.
Therapy is tailored to each client’s needs, whether that’s practical coping skills, improving communication, learning to identify emotions and thoughts that get in the way.
Therapy Provided:
- Couples seeking to improve their relationship by working on communication and problem solving
- Individuals navigating anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and life transitions
- Families with parenting support, teen counseling, blended family challenges and divorce transitions
- LGBTQ+ support
I earned my master’s degree from The Wright Institute in Berkeley, California. Then I have over 6 years of experience providing therapy to youth and families. Trained also in couples therapy (Gottman Method Levels 1 and 2), Premarital Counseling, Discernment Counseling, Infidelity Recovery, and Brainspotting.
As a teenage mom in high school, I felt my world crashing down, but with the support of a school counselor, I was empowered. Because of this, I wanted to become a therapist to provide support to individuals/couples/families that might be struggling in their relationships and/or going through major life transitions.
My family is everything, so when I am not working I am spending time with them. Additionally, I love to just be outside, especially exploring new walking/cycling paths, love a good movie and popcorn, and listening to live music and dancing. I also love and collect plants and find it so hard to not buy a new plant every time I see them in the stores.
“My teenage son has been going here for over a year and so much progress has been made. He knows it’s a safe and encouraging environment. Rebecca has made a big impact on our son’s life.”
