Welcome to The Relationship Therapy Center! Whether you’re curious about what the details of therapy are or are ready to take the actionable step in beginning your therapy journey, I’m glad you’re here!
People come to therapy for many reasons. While some feel stuck in painful relationship patterns, others are struggling with anxiety, grief, past trauma, or major life transitions. Similarily, many are simply looking for clarity, or a stronger connection with themselves and with those around them.
I believe, as Dan Allender says, “The harm happened in relationship, and the healing will happen in relationship.”
I’m a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist based in the greater Sacramento area, specifically Roseville, CA and Fair Oaks, CA. As each story you carry is unique, I believe your care should be too! Therefore, I utilize a variety of evidence-based practices to inform my therapeutic approach for couples therapy, pre-marital counseling, grief work, relational challenges and experiences of anxiety and depression.
With additional training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) I provide an evidence-based approach to trauma. Lastly for those who are interested, I can thoughtfully integrate spirituality into our work, honoring it as a meaningful and important part of the healing process.
Whether you’re working through pain points from the past or trying to strengthen your current relationships or sense of self, I offer a warm, supportive space where healing and growth can begin.
My approach is collaborative and compassionate, centered on engaging with your story and building trust, deepening insight, and helping you reconnect with yourself and with others!
I use research-based approaches like the Gottman Method, Attachment, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). These methods help give couples tools to improve communication, resolve conflict and build friendship, recover from anxiety, depression and trauma so they can live more fully.
I provide therapy for:
- Couples seeking to prepare for marriage, improve their relationship, grow closer and resolve conflict
- Individuals navigating anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, major life transitions or feeling stuck
- Teens navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges and self-esteem
- Faith-based integration if requested (Christian Therapist), support with nutrition
My Bachelor of Science in Clinical Nutrition was earned from the University of California, Davis and a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Western Seminary. Additionally I have over two years’ experience working with teens, couples, and individuals and have helped them with a variety of challenges, including trauma. Further, I’m trained in EMDR for trauma work, SYMBIS for pre-marital counseling, and Gottman Method Level 1 for couple therapy. My approach also use a psychodynamic psychotherapy approach.
My journey to become a therapist was greatly influenced by my previous vocational experience working with a non-profit organization where I worked closely mentoring college students. During that time I saw the value of diving deep into the lives of other people, asking questions, and ultimately listening to the stories that unfolded. Further, to walk alongside another person or a couple, as they pursue their healing path is a powerful experience to witness.
When I’m not working, I enjoy snuggling with my cats (whether they want to or not), reading a good book, preferably literary fiction or a memoir, or moving my body by walking or lifting weights!
“Amazing Therapists. The choices they give go beyond to match a good therapist with our needs. Each one we’ve seen has been highly trained, genuine and resourceful. I would and will recommend to my family and friends.”
