Hello, I’m Elise Taylor. I’m a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapy and Registered Associate Clinical Counselor based in Greater Sacramento, CA in Fair Oaks, CA and Roseville, CA. Further, I specialize in helping teens and adults who are struggling with any kind of trauma or are feeling stuck in any way achieving their goals. Additionally, I also work with couples and families to support connection, repair and better communication.
My passion is supporting clients to find their calm after traumatic experiences using Brainspotting.
I have trained in and use the following evidenced based treatment: Gottman Method 1-2 including affairs and addiction, Team CBT, CBT and brainspotting phases 1 & 2 and brainspotting with adults, kids and first responders.
There are many reasons why you might have decided to start therapy. Maybe you are struggling with choices in your life, or you are feeling overwhelmed with life changes. Likewise, maybe you have recently lost a loved one or have become a new parent, or maybe your feeling of worry is out of control. Perhaps you are questioning or doubting yourself and who you are or are in a relationship that is struggling, and you would like to strengthen it.
Past trauma can be carried through to our present and affect how we show up in our close relationships as well as the world around us.
Working on trauma and any negative cognitions that come from it in a safe space and attunement from a therapist can help in the healing of those traumas.
By seeking support, you can experience relief and positive change. You can also reduce your distress while enhancing your life with a better understanding of yourself and others. Additionally, you can gain tools for facing the challenges that lie ahead even after therapy has ended.
I provide therapy for:
- Couples seeking to improve their communication, rebuild trust, resolve conflict and increase intimacy
- Individuals navigating depression, anxiety, teens, grief, polyamory, trauma, abuse and life transitions
- Families who need to reconnect or get coparenting support
- First Responders
I earned my bachelor of science degree in psychology from Arizona state university and my Master of Arts degree in clinical psychology from Pepperdine University. To that end, I help couples and families, as well as people with depression, anxiety, teens, grief, polyamory, trauma, abuse and life transitions.
My decision to become a therapist comes from being in a family of people who chose to go into professions where we healed or helped people. Chiefly, my own experience with therapy helped me realize that I wanted to help people empower themselves to make the necessary choices to live happier and healthier lives. Since I am bilingual (fluent in Spanish) I also am grateful that I can reach even more people.
When I am not working I enjoy spending time with family and friends (game nights and movie nights are awesome), reading, listening to music, trying new recipes, gardening and traveling. Also, I enjoy connecting with new people and going on nature walks, trying different modes of exercise and learning new things.
“My bf and I worked with Elise for a year. She was amazing from the very beginning! She taught us many skills and helped us understand one another in new ways. She followed the Gottman guidelines which really aligned with our goals as a couple. If you’re looking for high level therapy check out Relationship Therapy Center and get in with Elise if you can!!!”
