If life is hard or you feel stuck, I can help. Many people have bouts of anxiety, depression or have had a loss or trauma in their lives and do the best they can to cope with life and it doesn’t always get better without support.
If you are struggling with your relationship – not sure if you can get over a betrayal, need help communicating, wonder if you are going to stay together or not, feel really distant or fighting a lot – I can help. I use the Gottman Method of Couples Therapy and Emotion Focused Therapy where you will learn to connect, understand your patterns, and learn new skills to improve your relationship.
Parents no longer living in the same home or those who have not been together but have children together can face a lot of challenges- let me help you walk through our co-parenting program to make sure you are doing the best for your child to thrive living in two home.
My passion is people, and assisting those that enter my office, in a way that offers hope, provides healing, and a renewed sense of joy. My theoretical orientation is a strong mix of Person Centered and Emotion Focused Therapy. I believe that each client is different, and so my approach to therapy allows for each individual to bring their unique self and experiences into the therapeutic space.
If you have experienced a trauma, which many of us have, I can help you recover whether you feel stuck or have complex trauma symptoms such as hypervigilance, intrusive thoughts, or nightmares. I am trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy TF-CBT), Integrate Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Art Therapy, Mindfulness, and many other therapy tools that I bring into my work. I am also certified in Level 1 Brainspotting, which is a trauma recovery approach.
Besides trauma, I can also help you with addiction recovery, anxiety and depression, life transitions and recurring patterns that keep you stuck.
The word “Selah” means “a breath, a pause, a break”. I hope that the atmosphere I provide is exactly selah. My desire would be that my clients feel safe to pause, breathe deeply into and through their pain, be still to sit in the emotional experiences, and move into a place of healing. I recognize that deciding to walk the path of therapy is a difficult one. It would be my honor to assist you in this process.
For couples and , I have completed the research based Gottman Couples Therapy Level 2, under the mentorship of Nancy Ryan, LMFT and also bring in my experience with Emotion Focused Couple Therapy (EFT) to the room to provide guidance on where you are not connecting, how to reconnect, ways to overcome the triggers you have with one another, learn to communicate well so that you both feel heard and understood, and get on the same page so that you can resolve conflict and build a great life together.
For Co-Parents, I use a program that will help you be better business partners in relationship to your children so that you’re children are not caught in the middle – they will fully be able to love both parents and get out of the middle of your adult relationship. Learn ways to be better coparents and help your children thrive.
I received my Masters in Counseling Psychology from William Jessup University and I am happy to integrate faith, if that is a personal preference. I am also LGBTQIA Informed and am able to support this community.
I work in the Roseville and Fair Oaks office days, evenings, and weekends. I look forward to meeting you soon!
